Its dial recalls a starry night sky, dotted with a shower of stars scattered over a cosmic vault displaying a subtle shift of blue, from the earth’s sky to the dark immensity of the universe. Evoking Zenith’s star-shaped emblem, which is in the form of the highest and brightest pointed star of these night-time skies. The celestial landscape is studded by stars of different sizes, some of which shine in the dark of their thousand rays. The piece also offers a new interchangeable watchband system as it comes with three included watchbands in different colours, each with a folding buckle.
The integrated steel watchband and a selection of coloured watchbands in satin and rubber-lined leather can be swapped over thanks to a quick-change watchband mechanism, integrated directly into the back of the watchbands, and requiring no special tool or skill – for a change of season or simply for a change of outfit. White diamonds adorn each marker, except at 3 o’clock where the date window is located. Equipped with Elite automatic movement, the Defy Midnight offers 50 hours of autonomy. Like a double reminder of the sky and the manufacture’s emblem, the oscillating weight visible through the sapphire case is sculpted into the shape of a star.
