Understated and elegant, the Annual Tonda Calendar embodies this poetic vision in an exceptional timepiece, animated by a specially-dedicated factory calibre. The Moon phase only requires a correction every 122 years and is a rare timepiece to show the Moon simultaneously as it’s seen from the North and South hemisphere. With exemplary readability, the piece is articulated around three counters indicating the day, month and Moon phase, the date being the only one indicated by large central hand. It has an automatic PF331 movement, Parmigiani Fleurier developed the PF339 calibre with an additional module devoted to the Quantième Annuel Rétrograde and its precision Moon phase.
This automatic movement, which has 50 hours of reserve power, has a standout feature of two barrels mounted in series. This helps to stabilise energy distribution so that it is transmitted to the regulator with a constant level. The bridges are hand-chamfered and decorated with côtes de Genève, ensuring exemplary craftsmanship, to the tiniest detail, even those that remain visible to the watchmaker alone.
